# Antibes in April: What It’s Actually Like

April in Antibes sits in that interesting middle ground where the Côte d’Azur hasn’t fully woken up yet but is definitely stretching and rubbing its eyes. Temperatures hover around 17°C, which sounds pleasant on paper and mostly is, though you’ll want a jacket for evenings when the sea breeze comes in and reminds you that summer hasn’t actually arrived. Pack layers rather than committing fully to either season.

The rain is real and worth acknowledging honestly. Just over 60mm spread across the month means you’ll likely encounter several grey, drizzly days rather than one dramatic storm. It rarely ruins a full day completely, but it does mean your plans should have an indoor alternative. April suits people who prioritise atmosphere over sunshine guarantees. It’s genuinely lovely for walkers, art lovers, market browsers, and anyone who finds peak-season crowds exhausting. Couples tend to do well here. Families wanting beach days might find it frustrating.

**Practical tip:** Book accommodation midweek if flexibility allows. April sees Easter weekend bring a noticeable mini-surge of French domestic visitors, and prices and availability shift noticeably around those few days specifically.
