Let’s be straight with you: July in Fethiye is hot. Not “oh how lovely and Mediterranean” hot, but genuinely, relentlessly, stops-you-in-your-tracks hot. That 34°C average is the daily temperature, not the peak, and walking around Fethiye’s market or climbing up to the Lycian rock tombs at midday will make you question your life choices pretty quickly.

**Is it worth visiting?** Honestly, it depends entirely on you. If you want a buzzing, social, full-on summer holiday with warm sea swimming, beach clubs, and late nights, July genuinely delivers. The sea temperature is perfect – around 27°C – and evening Fethiye is actually lovely once the heat drops. If you’re hoping for a relaxed, exploratory trip visiting ruins and hiking the Lycian Way, you’ll suffer. The trail is dangerously hot and the ancient sites feel like standing inside an oven.

Families with school-age children, young groups wanting nightlife, and people who genuinely love summer intensity will be happy here. Anyone sensitive to heat or crowds should seriously consider May or October instead.

**One practical tip:** Book your boat trip to the twelve islands for early morning departure, not the standard 11am. You’ll get the anchorage spots before the flotilla arrives, and the swimming feels completely different when you have clear water rather than fifty other swimmers around you.
