# Kaş in April: Honestly Worth It

April is one of those months where Kaş quietly earns its reputation without the chaos that buries it later in summer. The town is genuinely pleasant rather than performatively beautiful, which matters more than people admit.

The weather sits around 20°C, which sounds perfect on paper and mostly is. You’ll get proper warm sunshine, enough to sit at a harbour-side café in a t-shirt by early afternoon. But April in Kaş also means real rain, nearly 42mm spread across the month, so pack a light waterproof and don’t plan your entire itinerary around perfect blue skies. You’ll probably get two or three grey, drizzly days in the mix. The upside is that after rain, the mountains behind town go an almost aggressively vivid green, and the light on the water becomes something photographers chase specifically.

Crowds are manageable in a way that feels like a gift if you’ve visited in July. The harbour restaurants have tables available without reservations. You can wander the old town’s narrow streets without bumping into tour groups every thirty seconds. Most dive operators, boat trip companies, and gulet charters are running, just not at capacity, which often means more relaxed service and easier negotiation on prices. Shops are open, the Tuesday market is happening, restaurants are serving. This isn’t a ghost town month.

Kaş in April suits independent travellers who want to actually experience a place rather than queue for it. Divers love this window because visibility is good and sites aren’t crowded. Hikers benefit hugely since the Lycian Way walking nearby is far more comfortable at 20°C than in August’s punishing heat. Families with young children find it genuinely manageable.

If you’re chasing guaranteed beach weather for two weeks of solid sunbathing, wait until June. April sometimes delivers that, but it doesn’t promise it.

**One practical tip:** Book accommodation mid-week if you can. Some Antalya-based tour operators start running weekend excursions to Kaş in April, and the town briefly gets noticeably busier on Saturdays specifically.
