# Ölüdeniz in July: Beautiful, Busy, and Absolutely Baking

Look, I’ll be straight with you. July in Ölüdeniz is peak everything — peak heat, peak crowds, peak prices. That doesn’t make it bad, but it does mean you need to go in with your eyes open.

**The weather situation**

Thirty-two degrees is the average, but standing on that famous beach with zero shade and the sun bouncing off white pebbles, it feels considerably hotter. The 4.7mm of rain is essentially nothing — you might catch one brief, dramatic afternoon shower all month, possibly two. The sea is genuinely gorgeous though, warm and impossibly blue, and you’ll understand immediately why every photo of this place looks fake.

**The crowd reality**

July is when Ölüdeniz becomes a different animal entirely. The lagoon gets busy early and stays busy. Sunbeds are claimed by 9am. The main strip restaurants are loud and tourist-oriented, and you’ll queue for the paragliding from Babadağ mountain if you haven’t pre-booked. British, German, and Turkish holidaymakers descend in serious numbers. It’s not unpleasant exactly, but “hidden gem” energy this is not.

**What’s actually open and worth doing**

Everything is open — every boat trip, every water sport, every restaurant. The Blue Lagoon itself is stunning and worth seeing despite the crowds. The paragliding is legitimately spectacular and July’s clear skies make it particularly good for the flight. Butterfly Valley, accessible by boat, offers a slightly quieter escape if you go early or stay overnight.

**Who should come in July**

Families with school-age children who have no flexibility, people who genuinely love a buzzing, everything-available resort holiday, and paragliding enthusiasts chasing reliable thermals. If you’re after tranquility, come in May or October instead.

**One practical tip**

Book your paragliding slot before you arrive, not when you get there. July demand is high enough that you’ll lose a day waiting around otherwise, and honestly the flight is the thing most people remember longest.

It’s worth visiting, just not worth pretending it’s a secret anymore.
