Small family-run pensions line the streets within walking distance of the riverfront, and these are almost always better value than anything marketed aggressively online. Prices here typically run between 400 and 700 Turkish lira per night for a clean double room with breakfast included, and the owners tend to be genuinely helpful with local knowledge. You’re also close to the dolmuş connections and the boat taxis that take you to Iztuzu Beach, which saves money daily on transport.

Slightly north of the center, the quieter residential streets offer some guesthouses that locals use themselves, which is usually a reliable quality signal. These areas are a short walk to everything without the mild noise of the restaurant strip. For anyone on a strict budget, this is worth prioritizing.

Avoid the stretch closer to the Kaunos ruins side unless you have your own transport. It looks appealing on maps but isolation adds costs you don’t initially account for, particularly if you want to reach the beach or evening meals without paying for transfers.

One honest tip for mid-range budget travelers pushing toward the upper end of affordable: look for pensions with river views specifically, because the price difference versus a back-room is surprisingly small in Dalyan compared to more commercialized resorts, and waking up with that view genuinely changes the trip.
