The weather sits somewhere between genuinely pleasant and quietly miserable, often within the same afternoon. You’re realistically looking at temperatures around 15-17°C on a good day, which feels fine in the sun but distinctly chilly the moment a cloud rolls in off the Atlantic. And clouds will roll in. Rainfall is genuinely unpredictable – you might get a gorgeous run of clear, crisp days that make you feel like an absolute genius for coming in the shoulder season, or you might get a week of grey drizzle that makes the whole village feel like it’s been wrapped in damp cardboard. What February does guarantee is quiet. Beautifully, almost eerily quiet. The beach is essentially yours. Is it worth going? That depends entirely on who you are. If you want warmth, swimming, and a buzzing atmosphere, absolutely not – wrong month, wrong season. But if you’re someone who actively likes off-season travel, who wants long walks on an empty beach, cheap accommodation, and the experience of a place without its tourist costume on, then yes, genuinely.
