Visiting Belek in September

# Belek in September: Still Pretty Damn Good

Look, September in Belek is one of those months where the stars genuinely align if you time it right. The summer madness is starting to thin out, the sea is still absolutely glorious, and you’re not yet into the slightly melancholy shoulder season where half the restaurants have a closed sign and tumbleweeds.

**The actual weather situation** is where I have to be straight with you – September can swing. Early September still feels a lot like August, meaning genuinely hot. We’re talking high 20s to low 30s Celsius most days. By late September it softens slightly and becomes what most people would describe as perfect rather than punishing. Rainfall is genuinely unpredictable – you could get two weeks of unbroken sunshine or catch a few thundery afternoons that roll in from nowhere and disappear just as fast. It’s not monsoon season, but don’t assume it’s bone dry either. Pack accordingly rather than gambling.

**Crowds** drop noticeably after the first week, especially once European school terms restart. The beach still has people on it – this isn’t a ghost town – but you’re no longer elbowing past someone every three steps or waiting twenty minutes for a sun lounger. The golf courses, which are a huge part of why people come here specifically, become noticeably more accessible and less eye-watering on pricing.

**What’s open** is pretty much everything through September. Hotels, restaurants, water parks, excursions – providers haven’t packed up yet. This is a properly functioning resort month, not a skeleton operation.

**Worth it and for whom?** Honestly yes, particularly if you hate the frantic peak season energy of July and August but still want a proper beach holiday with warm swimming. It suits couples, golfers, and anyone who finds August crowds actively stressful. Families with younger children who aren’t school-age also do well here.

**One practical tip:** book transfers in advance. Antalya Airport is still extremely busy in September and taxi queues can genuinely ruin your first impression of what is otherwise a very smooth destination.
