The city sits at a latitude that keeps things warm well into autumn, so you’re typically looking at temperatures in the high 20s to low 30s Celsius throughout the month. Rainfall is genuinely rare — Agadir is one of the driest cities in Morocco, and September stays true to that reputation. You might see the odd overcast morning, but you’re not packing an umbrella for this trip.

The crowds tell an interesting story. Early September still catches the tail end of European school holidays, so the beach promenade and main hotel strip remain busy in the first couple of weeks. By mid to late September, things noticeably calm down. The beach gets more breathing room, restaurants aren’t running a wait, and you stop competing with families for sun loungers. If you found July and August Agadir overwhelming, late September is genuinely a different experience.

Everything stays open. This isn’t one of those destinations that quietly closes up in shoulder season. The beach clubs, the souk, the seafront restaurants serving grilled fish, the day trips out to Paradise Valley — all running normally. The Atlantic here also tends to be a little calmer later in the month, which matters if you’re a nervous swimmer or bringing kids.

Is it worth visiting? For beach holidaymakers who want summer sun without peak-season prices and noise, September is arguably the best month on the calendar. It suits couples, solo travelers, and families with older kids equally well. If you need constant entertainment and a buzzing nightlife scene, you might prefer early September over late.

One practical tip: book accommodation before you go, even in late September. Agadir has plenty of hotels, but the good mid-range options near the beach still fill up on weekends with domestic Moroccan tourists, particularly around long weekends. Don’t assume availability is guaranteed just because the European crowds have thinned out.
