# Tenerife in November: What It’s Actually Like
Look, November in Tenerife is genuinely hard to predict, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.
The south of the island – Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos – tends to stay mild and often sunny, hovering around 22-24°C most days. But November is when the Atlantic starts flexing. You can absolutely get a gorgeous week of warm sunshine. You can also get overcast skies, choppy seas, and a few days of proper rain, particularly in the north around Puerto de la Cruz. The weather lottery is real and nobody can promise you anything.
Here’s what November actually delivers though: the crowds have largely vanished. The summer families are gone, the Christmas rush hasn’t arrived yet. You can walk into restaurants without queuing, actually find a sunbed without it being a competitive sport, and have conversations with locals who aren’t completely exhausted by tourism. The island breathes a little easier, and so will you.
Everything is still open. This isn’t like some European destinations where half the businesses have locked up and gone home. Waterparks, boat trips, hiking trails in Teide National Park – all running. Prices drop noticeably compared to July or August, both for flights and accommodation.
Is it worth going? Honestly, it depends enormously on what you want. If your entire holiday satisfaction rests on guaranteed beach days and consistent 28-degree heat, November is a gamble you might lose. If you’re after walking, exploring the island properly, eating and drinking well without fighting crowds, or you just need to escape a grey Northern European November – it’s genuinely excellent. Older travellers, hikers, couples who want a relaxed pace and digital nomads treating it as a warm-ish base all tend to love it.
**One practical tip:** Pack a layer for evenings regardless of what the forecast says. November nights cool down faster than you’d expect, and you’ll feel it the moment the sun drops. A light jacket will save you repeatedly.
