It’s warm enough to swim comfortably, the Aegean has shaken off its spring chill, and you’re not being slowly cooked alive the way you will be in August. That 10mm of rain is basically nothing — maybe one grey afternoon where you drink tea and eat too much börek. Don’t lose sleep over it.
Crowds are genuinely manageable in early June. The Turkish school holidays haven’t started, the European charter crowd hasn’t fully arrived, and the İzmir weekend warriors are still showing some restraint. Couples, anyone who hates crowds on principle, foodies who want to actually get a table at the good meyhanes, and anyone doing a combination of beach relaxation and exploring the surrounding villages. Families with school-age kids will likely be pushed to later months by logistics, but if you have flexibility, June hands down.
**One practical tip:** Book accommodation before you go, even in June. Çeşme has fewer good beds than you’d expect for its reputation, and the decent places fill up faster than the month’s reputation suggests they should.
