# Brač in June: Pretty Much the Sweet Spot
June on Brač is genuinely one of those times when you feel smug about your travel timing. The island hasn’t lost its mind yet – that happens in July when the ferries from Split start resembling a slow-motion rugby scrum – but everything is properly open, the sea is warm enough to actually swim in comfortably, and the light in the evenings is almost offensively beautiful.
That 23°C average is real and it’s lovely. You’ll get warm sunny days without the oppressive, can’t-think, sweating-through-your-shirt heat of August. The 10mm of rain across the whole month means you might get one slightly grey afternoon where you sit in a konoba longer than planned and drink more wine than intended. Honestly not a hardship.
Bol, which is where most people are headed for Zlatni Rat beach, is busy but not unbearable in June. You can still find a spot on the beach without performing a military operation at 7am. The restaurants are all open, staff are in decent moods because they haven’t been destroyed by the season yet, and prices are slightly more forgiving than peak summer.
The rest of the island – Supetar, Pučišća, Milna – is genuinely quiet. If you rent a car and explore inland, you’ll have olive groves and dry stone walls largely to yourself. Vidova Gora on a clear June day offers views that’ll make you insufferable at dinner parties for years.
**Who is this trip for?** Couples, anyone who finds crowds genuinely stressful, people who want to hike without dying, photographers, anyone who just wants to swim and eat grilled fish without queuing. Not ideal if you want the full buzzing summer festival atmosphere – that peaks mid-July onwards.
**One practical tip:** Book accommodation now rather than assuming you’ll sort it when you arrive. June has quietly become popular precisely because people read articles like this one, and the good small apartments in Bol go early.
Worth it in June? Absolutely yes.
