# Ibiza in November: The Island Finally Exhales
By November, Ibiza has essentially packed up and gone to bed. The clubs closed in early October, the charter flights dried up, and roughly 80% of the bars and restaurants have pulled down their shutters until spring. If you’re coming here expecting anything resembling the summer version of this island, you will be genuinely baffled.
And honestly? That’s not necessarily a bad thing.
The weather sits around 18-19°C, which sounds lovely on paper, and often is. You’ll get genuinely warm, golden afternoons where you can walk along the coast in just a light jacket and feel quietly smug about it. But that 52mm of rainfall has to land somewhere, and November has a habit of delivering it in proper Mediterranean downpours that can knock out an entire day. It’s not relentless grey British drizzle — it tends to arrive dramatically and then leave — but don’t come without a waterproof.
Crowds are essentially nonexistent. You can walk through Dalt Vila, the old walled town in Ibiza city, and actually hear your own footsteps. The local towns like Santa Gertrudis and Sant Joan feel genuinely Ibezan rather than performatively so. It’s a different island to the one that Instagram knows.
What’s open is the real variable. Ibiza town has year-round life — supermarkets, some restaurants, the ferry port. A handful of places in San Antonio stay open. But don’t expect choice. You might find one good restaurant in an area that has thirty in August.
**Is it worth it?** For hikers, cyclists, and people who want to explore the interior, absolutely yes. For anyone who wants nightlife, beach clubs, or reliable sunshine, genuinely no — come in May instead.
**One practical tip:** Book accommodation carefully. Plenty of hotels show as “available” on booking sites but are physically closed when you arrive. Call ahead and confirm directly before you pay anything.
November Ibiza rewards the curious and frustrates everyone else. Know which one you are before you book.
