# Kalkan in October: What It’s Actually Like

October is quietly one of the better months to visit Kalkan, though not for everyone, and it’s worth being honest about the trade-offs before you book.

The temperature sits around 25°C, which genuinely feels pleasant rather than punishing. After the brutal 38-degree summers that leave you shuffling between air-conditioned restaurants and your pool umbrella, October feels like Kalkan has exhaled. You can actually walk up those steep cobbled streets without arriving at the top looking like you’ve run a half marathon. Evenings cool down nicely, meaning you might want a light layer for dinner on one of the rooftop terraces.

The 75mm of rainfall is worth acknowledging honestly. That’s real rain, not a brief afternoon shower. You’re unlikely to get rained on every day, but you should expect at least a few days where the sky turns properly grey and moody. The sea can look dramatically beautiful on those days, but swimming becomes less appealing. Pack accordingly rather than assuming Mediterranean automatically means sunshine.

It suits couples, solo travellers, and anyone who finds peak-season Kalkan too expensive and too hectic.

It’s less ideal if small children need reliable beach days, or if sunshine feels non-negotiable to you.
