# Kaş in November: Honest Thoughts

November in Kaş is genuinely one of those months that divides people cleanly into two camps. You’ll either love it completely or spend the whole time wishing you’d come in July.

The weather sits around 20-21°C, which sounds lovely on paper and honestly mostly is. Days are warm enough for a light jacket and lunch outside, but that 66mm of rainfall has to land somewhere, and it tends to arrive in sudden, dramatic bursts rather than polite drizzle. You might get five gorgeous sunny days followed by two where the streets turn into small rivers and the mountains disappear entirely into cloud. The sea is still swimmable for the hardier types, hovering around 22°C, but most people aren’t swimming.

The town itself is noticeably quieter. Not ghost-town quiet, but the difference is real. The restaurants and shops along the main waterfront are thinning out – some have already closed for winter, others are running skeleton hours. The places that stay open are usually the ones locals actually use, which is its own reward. You’ll find yourself having actual conversations with people rather than competing for table space.

For divers, this is still a solid month. Many dive operators run through November and the visibility can be excellent. Hiking is genuinely brilliant – the Lycian Way trails around Kaş are less punishing in cooler temperatures, and you’ll have them mostly to yourself.

The archaeological sites, the old town streets, the views across to Kastellorizo – none of that diminishes. The light in autumn is softer and the colours in the surrounding hills are quietly beautiful.

Who is this for? Couples, solo travellers, anyone burned out on crowds, people who actually want to explore rather than perform a beach holiday. It’s not for families expecting full holiday infrastructure or anyone whose mood depends on guaranteed sunshine.

**Practical tip:** Ring ahead before making restaurants central to your plans. A place that looks open on Google Maps may have quietly locked its doors for the season by mid-November.
