# Mykonos in June: The Sweet Spot Before the Madness

If you’re going to do Mykonos, June is honestly one of the smarter times to go. The island hasn’t completely lost its mind yet.

The weather is genuinely gorgeous. You’re looking at around 28°C most days, barely any rain – maybe a couple of light showers the whole month if you’re unlucky – and that famous Aegean light that makes everything look slightly unreal. The sea is warm enough to swim in comfortably, the wind keeps things from feeling oppressive, and you’re not melting into the pavement like you might be in August.

Crowds are real but manageable, which is about the best thing you can say about Mykonos. Early June especially has a different energy – restaurants actually have tables, you can walk through Little Venice without shuffling behind a wall of selfie sticks, and hotel prices, while never cheap here, are noticeably lower than peak summer rates. By late June things are ramping up fast, so earlier in the month is genuinely better if you have flexibility.

Everything is open and running properly. Bars, beach clubs, restaurants – it’s all fully operational. The famous party scene is going but it’s not yet at the absolute fever pitch of July and August, which depending on your personality is either a downside or a relief.

So who is this actually good for? Couples who want beaches and nice dinners without feeling like they’re at a festival. People who want the Mykonos aesthetic without the full chaos. Anyone who hates queuing for everything. It’s less ideal if the nonstop nightlife energy is literally the whole point for you – that peaks later.

The one practical tip worth knowing: book your restaurant reservations before you arrive. Even in June, the good places fill up fast, and turning up hoping for a table at a sunset spot is a quick way to end up eating somewhere mediocre and slightly resentful.

Go in early June, stay somewhere with a pool, and you’ll probably have a great time.
