# Sitges in November: Honest Take
November in Sitges is genuinely quiet, and depending on your personality, that’s either the whole point or a dealbreaker.
The weather sits around 17°C, which sounds decent until you’re actually standing on the seafront at 6pm when the wind comes off the Mediterranean and cuts straight through your jacket. Bring layers. The 68mm of rainfall means you’ll almost certainly catch at least one proper downpour during a week-long trip – not constant drizzle, but those sudden Mediterranean dumps that soak you completely before you’ve registered it’s raining. Pack accordingly and don’t plan days that only work if it stays dry.
What November actually feels like is a town remembering itself. The summer crowds, the foam parties, the promenade packed shoulder-to-shoulder – gone. You can walk the old town properly, wander up to the church overlooking the sea, sit in a restaurant without competing for a table. For people who love Sitges but find July and August borderline unbearable, this is the sweet spot.
Crowds are minimal. This is excellent if you want atmosphere without noise, and slightly deflating if you want a buzzing scene. The LGBTQ+ bars and clubs that make Sitges distinctive are mostly open but running at maybe a quarter of capacity midweek. Weekends pick up, particularly as Barcelona residents treat it as an easy escape.
Many smaller restaurants run reduced hours or close on weekdays. Walk the main strips before choosing somewhere for dinner rather than assuming everywhere is open. The beach is beautiful, empty and cold – fine for a walk, not really for swimming unless you’re unnervingly hardy.
Is it worth visiting? For couples, solo travellers, or anyone who actively dislikes crowds and wants the Mediterranean aesthetic without the circus, yes absolutely. For anyone expecting a party or a beach holiday, genuinely no – wait until May or June when the weather improves and things wake up before the peak madness hits.
**Practical tip:** Book accommodation directly with smaller hotels. November rates drop significantly and owners will often upgrade you without asking, simply because they have the rooms.
