You’ll want to check ahead rather than assume things are open, because assumptions will leave you hungry and annoyed on a Tuesday evening. Some of the best-known seafood spots shutter until Easter.

Is it worth going? For the right person, absolutely. If you want dramatic coastal scenery, quiet streets, and a slower pace where you’re actually engaging with a place rather than processing it, February delivers. It suits photographers, couples wanting low-key time, or anyone burned out by crowds. It’s a harder sell if good food access and reliable sunshine are non-negotiable for you.

**Practical tip:** Book accommodation before you go rather than hoping to find something on arrival. Stock is genuinely limited in winter, and the few places that stay open fill up with hunters, locals, and the occasional off-season explorer faster than you’d expect.
