# Paros in June: The Sweet Spot Before Things Get Hectic

June is genuinely one of the better times to visit Paros, and I’ll tell you why without overselling it.

The weather sits around 28 degrees, which sounds perfect on paper and mostly is in practice. You’ll get long, sunny days with enough breeze off the Aegean to stop things feeling oppressive. That said, don’t pack exclusively light layers – evenings can drop noticeably, especially early June, and you’ll want something with sleeves for dinner. Rainfall is minimal, around 10mm for the whole month, so you’re not going to lose beach days to weather. The sea is warming up nicely by mid-June, hovering around 22-23°C – comfortable for most people, refreshing rather than cold.

Crowds are manageable, which is honestly the main reason to consider June. The island isn’t empty – this isn’t some hidden secret anymore – but you can actually walk through Naoussa without being shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, find a sunbed without a military-style early morning operation, and get a table at a good taverna without booking three weeks ahead. July and August are a completely different animal. If you’ve done Greek islands in peak summer and found it exhausting, June genuinely fixes most of those complaints.

Everything worth visiting is open. Beaches, boat trips, restaurants, the marble quarries at Marathi, the Byzantine road walk – all running normally. Some shops and venues might not be at full summer hours in very early June, but nothing significant is shuttered.

Who is June best for? Couples, solo travellers, anyone who wants actual relaxation rather than a party marathon. Families with younger kids do well here too – the calmer sea conditions and less frantic atmosphere help. If you’re chasing nightlife at full volume, wait for August.

**Practical tip worth knowing:** Rent your scooter or ATV in the first day or arrival. By late June, stock runs low and you’ll pay more for worse options. Having wheels transforms how much of the island you actually see beyond the two main towns.
