# Poreč in May: The Sweet Spot Before the Madness

Honestly, May might be the best time to visit Poreč if you’re not a fan of sweating through your shirt while fighting for pavement space with eight thousand other tourists. The summer crowds haven’t fully arrived yet, and the town still feels like somewhere people actually live rather than a stage set for Instagram content.

The weather sits at a genuinely pleasant 19.8°C on average, which means comfortable walking, comfortable eating outside, comfortable everything. You’ll want a light jacket for evenings because the temperature drops noticeably once the sun disappears behind the Adriatic. The town has genuine charm in May. Local life is still present. Prices are meaningfully lower than peak season. You can get a table at a decent restaurant without a reservation.
