Look, if you’re imagining turquoise water and a beach towel in February, pump the brakes. Formentera in the coldest month delivers something genuinely different, and whether that’s good or bad depends entirely on what you’re after.

The weather sits around 14°C, which is mild enough to walk around comfortably in a light jacket but absolutely not swimming weather for most humans. You’ll get some gorgeous crisp, sunny days where the light on the water is almost offensively beautiful, that famous turquoise still doing its thing even without the summer chaos around it. **Practical tip:** Rent bikes on the mainland side when you arrive at the ferry port. Some rental places close in winter, so confirm availability before you travel rather than assuming.
