For photographers, hikers wanting the coastal trails without the heat, people interested in the actual Albanian community rather than the tourist veneer, or anyone doing a wider southern Albania circuit through Gjirokastër and Berat — yes, absolutely. For someone specifically wanting beach vibes, seafood at every meal, and a lively atmosphere, come back in May or June instead. December Himarë rewards the curious and mildly self-sufficient.

**One practical tip:** Don’t rely on finding a cash machine reliably stocked. Bring more Albanian lek than you think you need from Vlorë or Sarandë before arriving. Winter staffing means the local ATM situation becomes genuinely unpredictable.
