Visiting Vlore in July

# Vlore in July: What You’re Actually Getting Into

Let me be straight with you – July in Vlore is hot. We’re talking properly, relentlessly hot. Temperatures regularly push into the mid-thirties Celsius, the sun feels personal, and the Albanian Riviera baking in full summer mode is both its best and most complicated version. Rainfall is essentially a non-event. You might see a brief storm roll in off the Adriatic once or twice across the whole month, but you’re genuinely not packing an umbrella for weather reasons.

The crowds are real and worth understanding before you commit. Vlore is no secret to Albanians and Kosovars, who descend on the coast in serious numbers throughout July. The promenade, the beaches around Radhime and Uji i Ftohte, and the restaurants along the waterfront are genuinely packed, particularly on weekends. This isn’t Santorini-level chaos, but if you were hoping for a quiet, undiscovered gem moment, July specifically will disappoint you. The vibe is loud, lively, and very much a domestic summer holiday rather than a boutique retreat.

The upside is that everything is absolutely open. Restaurants, bars, boat trips to Sazan Island and the Blue Eye nearby – all of it running at full capacity. The ferry connections to Brindisi are operating regularly. You’ll have zero problems finding food, nightlife, or transport.

Is it worth visiting in July? Honestly, it depends on what you want. If you like energy, cold beer on warm evenings, and don’t mind jostling for beach space, you’ll have a genuinely good time and the sea temperature is perfect. If you’re sensitive to heat or crowds, go in late May or early September instead and thank yourself later.

**One practical tip:** Get to any beach spot early – before ten in the morning. The difference between arriving at nine versus noon is significant in terms of space, shade availability, and your general mood for the rest of the day. Afternoons are for hiding somewhere air-conditioned with good coffee anyway.
