# Agadir in March: What It’s Actually Like

Here’s the honest version: March in Agadir is genuinely pleasant but not the guaranteed sunshine fest that some travel sites will have you believe.

Temperatures sit somewhere in the low-to-mid twenties during the day, which feels lovely if you’re arriving from a grey northern winter. But there’s a catch that often surprises people. The Atlantic coast means Atlantic weather, and March still carries enough unpredictability to mess with your beach plans. You can get four consecutive sunny days followed by a cool, overcast stretch that makes sitting on the beach feel slightly optimistic. The sea temperature is also cold – hovering around 17-18°C – so serious swimming is really only for the enthusiastic or the wetsuited.

Rainfall isn’t heavy, but it exists. Don’t pack exclusively for heat.

The crowd situation is actually one of March’s genuine selling points. Agadir gets absolutely rammed in July and August, and the Christmas period sees significant visitor numbers too. March sits in a comfortable middle ground – things are open and functioning, restaurants aren’t desperate for custom, and you can actually get a sunbed on the beach without performing some kind of 6am territorial ritual. It’s busy enough to feel alive, quiet enough to feel like you’re not queueing for your own holiday.

Everything you’d want is operational: the beach, the marina restaurants, day trips to Souss-Massa National Park, the old kasbah ruins, and the souks. The Atlas Mountains are still dusted with snow in early March, which makes the cable car trip from Agadir genuinely scenic.

**Worth visiting in March?** Yes, specifically if you’re after mild weather, lower prices than peak season, and you’re not fixated on guaranteed beach weather. It suits couples, older travellers, and anyone who’d rather stroll the marina with a coffee than compete for pool space. Families wanting guaranteed splash time might want to wait.

**Practical tip:** Book accommodation on the beach side of the main boulevard rather than the marina side if beach proximity matters to you. The distances look smaller on maps than they feel at 7pm.
