Let’s be straight with you: July in Fuerteventura is hot. Not “pleasantly warm” hot — we’re talking consistently 28-32°C, sometimes nudging higher, with barely a cloud in the sky and almost zero chance of rain. The island sits close to the African coast, and in summer you genuinely feel that. If heat makes you miserable, file this one away for October instead.

That said, the wind is your friend here. Fuerteventura is famously one of the windiest places in Europe, and even in peak summer that Atlantic breeze keeps things from feeling completely suffocating. It’s also why the island is absolutely packed with windsurfers and kitesurfers in July — Sotavento beach during the season is practically a different sport’s version of Glastonbury.

Crowds are real and worth knowing about. July is high season, full stop. Families, young couples, package holiday crowds from Germany, the UK, and Scandinavia — they’re all here. The main resort areas like Corralejo and Morro Jable get busy, popular beaches fill up by mid-morning, and restaurant queues are normal in the evenings. It’s not Ibiza-chaotic, but don’t expect empty paradise.

Everything is open. Hotels, restaurants, water parks, boat trips, diving schools — July is when the island is operating at full commercial capacity, so you won’t find anything shut. Prices reflect this accordingly.

Is it worth going? For beach-lovers, water sports enthusiasts, and anyone who genuinely enjoys baking in the sun beside spectacular dunes, absolutely yes. The beaches here — particularly the Corralejo dunes — are legitimately stunning, and July gives you guaranteed sunshine to enjoy them. Families with school-age kids often have no choice, and honestly, there are worse places to do the obligatory summer holiday.

If you prefer quieter travel or wilt in heat, you’ll have a better time in spring or autumn.

**Practical tip:** Book accommodation and car hire well in advance. July inventory disappears months earlier than you’d expect, and last-minute options get expensive fast.
