The Adriatic is still too cold for serious swimming – don’t let anyone convince you otherwise – but that’s fine because nobody’s really there for beach life yet. And crowds are the real story. May sits in that golden window after the Easter rush settles and before the Italian and Austrian summer families arrive in force.
