October might genuinely be the best time to visit Bodrum, and the crowds haven’t fully figured this out yet, which works in your favour.

The weather sits around 23°C, which sounds modest compared to the scorching 38-degree chaos of July, but honestly this is the temperature you actually want. You can walk around the castle without feeling like you’re being slowly cooked. You can eat lunch outside without immediately needing a shower afterwards. The sea is still genuinely warm from months of summer heat, so swimming remains completely enjoyable well into the month, particularly in the first three weeks.

**One practical tip:** book accommodation directly with smaller guesthouses in October. Many are happy to negotiate since occupancy drops, and you’ll often get a significantly better room for the same price you’d pay a booking platform.
