May is genuinely one of the better times to visit Comino, and I say that as someone who’s seen what the island looks like in August when it’s essentially a floating beach party with nowhere to hide.

You’re warm enough to swim comfortably, the sun has real strength behind it, and you’re not being slowly cooked alive while queuing for a boat. Is it worth it? Yes, for anyone who wants natural beauty without the full summer chaos. It suits couples, people who actually want to snorkel and explore the coastline on foot, and anyone who finds peak-season Mediterranean beaches a bit exhausting.
**Practical tip:** Day-tripping from Malta is easy and cheap via ferry from Cirkewwa. There’s no need to complicate it further.
