February sits in the sweet spot of Hurghada’s calendar, and honestly, it’s one of the better times to go if you’re coming from somewhere cold and miserable.

**The Weather Reality**

Expect warm, sunny days around 20-23°C, which feels genuinely pleasant rather than oppressively hot. Evenings drop noticeably though, sometimes down to 14-15°C, so pack an actual jacket or you’ll be shivering on your hotel terrace wondering why you didn’t listen. The sea hovers around 22°C, which sounds swimmable on paper but feels pretty fresh once you’re actually in it. Rain is rare but not impossible. February can occasionally throw a grey, blustery day at you, nothing dramatic, but worth knowing the Red Sea coast isn’t guaranteed sunshine every single day even in winter.

**Crowds and Atmosphere**

This is peak European escape season, so don’t expect to have the beach to yourself. Russians, Germans, Poles, and Brits arrive in significant numbers chasing winter sun. The resort strip feels busy but not overwhelmingly chaotic like it gets in summer. Book accommodation in advance because decent mid-range hotels genuinely fill up.

**What’s Open and Working**

Everything runs at full capacity in February. Diving and snorkelling trips operate daily, the reefs around Giftun Island are accessible, boat trips are running, and the tourist market along Sheraton Street is fully alive. If you want to dive, visibility is generally good and the water is clear.

**Is It Worth It and For Whom?**

Honestly yes, primarily for sun-seekers wanting a beach break without extreme heat, divers and snorkellers, and families with younger kids who don’t need intense swimming weather. If you want a proper beach-and-swim holiday where you’re actually sweating poolside, February might disappoint slightly. Come in July for that punishment.

**One Practical Tip**

Bring a wetsuit or rent one locally before diving or snorkelling. The water temperature catches most people off guard, and a thin 3mm suit transforms the experience from endurance test to actual enjoyment.
