# Korčula in June: Pretty Much the Sweet Spot

Honestly, if someone asked me when to visit Korčula, June would be my first answer before they’d finished the question.

The weather sits at a genuinely comfortable 23-24°C for most of the month, which means you can actually walk around the old town without feeling like you’re being slowly cooked. There’s some occasional rain – maybe a handful of days with light showers – but nothing that ruins anything. It clears quickly, the stone streets smell incredible afterwards, and you’ll probably be grateful for the excuse to sit in a konoba longer than planned.

Crowds are present but manageable, which is the honest version of “not too busy.” The old town peninsula does get busy around midday when day-trippers arrive from Dubrovnik and Split, but early mornings and evenings belong to you almost entirely. Watching the sun drop behind the Pelješac peninsula from the town walls at 8pm with basically nobody around feels absurdly cinematic. You haven’t earned that view, but you’ll take it.

Everything is open – restaurants, boat hire, wine tours out toward Lumbarda, the Marco Polo house if that’s your thing. Locals are genuinely present and in reasonable spirits, not yet exhausted by the summer onslaught that July and August bring. You’ll get actual service rather than survival-mode hospitality.

Is it worth it and for whom? Couples, yes, absolutely. Solo travelers who want atmosphere without anxiety, yes. Families with kids who can handle some walking and ferry logistics, also yes. Party seekers chasing nightlife, probably not – this is a quiet, beautiful, wine-and-grilled-fish kind of island, in June especially.

The one practical tip worth remembering: book your ferry from Split or the Pelješac crossing in advance if you’re bringing a car. Foot passengers have no problem, but vehicle spaces fill up faster than you’d expect even in June. Miss one ferry and you’ve lost half a day standing on a hot dock feeling foolish.

Go in June. You’ll recommend it to everyone afterwards.
