Early June can still throw you the occasional overcast day or a brief shower, so don’t arrive expecting a completely guaranteed beach-every-day situation. By mid to late June the heat settles in properly and you’re looking at long, dry sunny days more consistently. The sea temperature is comfortable but not bathtub-warm — perfectly swimmable, but you’ll notice it on that first plunge.

Crowds are the real story here. Early June feels almost miraculous. Glossa is quiet, the old town of Skopelos feels like it belongs to the people who actually live there, and you can get a table at Agnanti without planning your entire holiday around a reservation. The pine forests smell incredible in the heat and the hiking trails aren’t choked with people. By late June things start picking up noticeably, particularly on weekends, as Greek holidaymakers and early-arriving Europeans begin appearing. It’s not Mykonos chaos, but you’ll feel the difference.

Everything is open. Hotels, tavernas, boat trips, rental companies — June is fully operational, unlike parts of May where you can still find shutters down and owners shrugging apologetically.

**Is it worth visiting in June?** Yes, particularly for people who want some actual peace with their sunshine. It suits couples, solo travellers, walkers, and anyone who’d rather have a conversation in a quiet harbour bar than queue for a sun lounger. Families will find it perfectly easy too, without the August intensity.

**One practical tip:** Rent a car or scooter on arrival, even for just a couple of days. The bus service covers the basics but Skopelos rewards wandering down unmarked roads toward hidden beaches. You’ll find spots in June that feel entirely your own, and that feeling disappears fast once summer properly arrives.
