Weather in June: Average high 24.1°C, 10mm rainfall.

# Tivat in June: Honest Thoughts

June is genuinely one of the better times to visit Tivat, and I don’t say that about every destination. The temperature sits around 24°C, which sounds perfect on paper and mostly delivers in reality. It’s warm enough to swim comfortably, you’re not melting into the pavement, and the evenings are actually pleasant rather than oppressively hot. That 10mm of rainfall sounds almost meaningless, and it largely is – you might get one overcast afternoon the whole trip, maybe a brief thunderstorm that clears within an hour. Pack nothing special for rain.

The crowds are building but haven’t reached the chaos of July and August. Porto Montenegro, the superyacht marina that essentially defines modern Tivat, is open and humming. The restaurants, bars and boutiques around the waterfront are fully operational, and you get the atmosphere without constantly fighting for space. You can actually browse and sit down without planning military logistics.

What’s genuinely enjoyable is just walking that marina promenade in the early evening. The yachts get increasingly ridiculous as the season progresses, and by mid-June there are some properly absurd vessels worth gawking at. The old town of Tivat itself is modest – be honest with yourself that this isn’t Kotor, it’s a small, unpretentious town – but it’s likeable for a morning’s wander.

Water temperature is around 22-23°C by June, which is very swimmable. The beaches aren’t empty but you’ll find space.

**Who is June actually for?** Couples who want sun without sensory overload. People using Tivat Airport as a gateway to the Bay of Kotor more broadly. Anyone who genuinely cannot tolerate August heat or crowds. Families with flexible school schedules.

**Who should reconsider?** Pure beach obsessives who want guaranteed packed, vibrant beach scenes every single day – late July delivers that more reliably.

**One practical tip:** Book accommodation mid-week if possible. Weekend flights from Western Europe already bring noticeable price jumps in June, and the town feels the difference Friday through Sunday.

Worth it? Yes, quietly so.
