**Is it worth visiting?** Depends entirely on who you are. If you want a lively, affordable Spanish summer holiday with reliable sunshine, easy beach access and good seafood, honestly yes. Torrevieja isn’t glamorous but it delivers what it promises. If you hate crowds, can’t handle heat and were hoping for a peaceful cultural experience, July will make you miserable. This is a working-class resort doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

**One practical tip:** Book your accommodation earlier than you think necessary. The decent mid-range apartments and hotels near the waterfront get snapped up fast, and what’s left at short notice is either overpriced or genuinely grim. Sort it in advance and everything else is straightforward.

Come for the sun, the salt lakes and the unpretentious vibe. Leave expecting sophistication and you’ll be disappointed.
