# Marbella in July: What You’re Actually Getting Into

Let’s be straight with you. July in Marbella is hot, crowded, and expensive. It’s also genuinely brilliant if you’re the right kind of person for it.

The weather is almost aggressively sunny. You’re looking at around 29°C most days, occasionally nudging higher, with basically zero rain — that 0.6mm figure is barely a drizzle that evaporates before it hits the pavement. The sea is warm and calm, the evenings stay light until well past nine, and the whole place has this charged, holiday-electric atmosphere that some people absolutely live for.

The crowds, though, are real. Puerto Banús in July is wall-to-wall people — yachts packed into the marina, beach clubs heaving by midday, restaurants with waits even if you’ve booked. The Old Town is beautiful but you’ll be shuffling through it alongside approximately everyone else in Europe. If you’re someone who finds that kind of energy draining, July will wear you down fast.

That said, everything is open and firing. Beach clubs, rooftop bars, the markets, boat trips, every restaurant — July is peak season so the full version of Marbella is available to you. This is genuinely not the case in shoulder months when places close or run skeleton service.

**Worth visiting in July?** Yes, if you want a proper lively summer holiday and don’t mind paying for it. Flights and hotels will cost you more than spring or autumn. Yes, if you have kids who need to be in school holidays and don’t have the luxury of going in June. Not ideal if you hate heat, can’t stand crowds, or were hoping for a quiet, authentic experience — you won’t find that here in July.

**One practical tip:** book a beach club sunbed in advance, seriously. Just pick one and reserve it before you travel. Without one, you’ll spend a significant portion of your holiday standing on scorching sand looking for somewhere to put your towel, which is a miserable way to be in paradise.
