# Marbella in June: Is It Actually Worth It?
June is genuinely one of the better times to visit Marbella, and I say that as someone who’s been there in August and deeply regretted it.
**What it actually feels like**
Twenty-six degrees is the sweet spot. It’s properly warm, beach weather without question, but you’re not lying there feeling like something being slow-cooked. The sea temperature climbs to around 21-22°C by mid-June, which is swimmable rather than just aspirationally swimmable. That 5mm of rain is basically nothing – you might get one brief afternoon shower that clears within the hour and actually provides welcome relief. Pack nothing for rain. Seriously.
**The crowds situation**
Here’s the honest part. Early June still feels relatively human. You can walk along the Old Town without being shuffled along in a herd, restaurant reservations aren’t completely impossible, and beach space exists. By late June, particularly from the 20th onwards, Spanish school holidays begin kicking in and the transformation is noticeable. If you have flexibility, the first two weeks of June are genuinely lovely. The third week onward you’re edging toward peak-season territory without quite the prices to match.
**What’s open and running**
Everything. This isn’t shoulder season where you’re finding half the restaurants shuttered. The beach clubs are in full swing, the marina is buzzing, the Old Town’s tapas bars are operating normal hours. Puerto Banús is doing its whole thing if that’s your scene.
**Who should go in June**
Couples, anyone who hates crowds, people who want to actually enjoy a meal rather than queue for one. Families with younger kids before school breaks work really well. It’s less ideal if you want the full high-energy party atmosphere – that’s more an August thing.
**One practical tip**
Book your restaurant tables before you travel, not when you arrive. Even in June, the good spots in the Old Town fill by 8pm. Five minutes on their Instagram or a quick email saves a genuinely frustrating evening standing outside somewhere good watching other people eat.
