Visiting Dahab in November
# Dahab in November: The Sweet Spot Nobody Talks About
Okay, so November in Dahab is genuinely one of the better times to go, and I’m slightly annoyed it’s not more widely discussed.
The weather is what you’d call properly comfortable rather than spectacular. Temperatures sit somewhere in the low-to-mid twenties during the day, occasionally dipping into the high teens once the sun drops. After the brutal 40-degree hammer of summer, this feels revelatory. You can actually walk around at midday without immediately regretting every life choice. Evenings get legitimately cool, sometimes chilly, so bring something warm for sitting outside at the restaurants along the lagoon. Rainfall is minimal but not impossible – you might get one grey, slightly drizzly day, but calling it a rainy season would be a significant exaggeration.
The sea is still warm enough to dive and snorkel comfortably, and this matters because the whole reason most people go to Dahab is the water. The Blue Hole, the Canyon, the lagoon – all absolutely accessible and at genuinely good visibility.
Crowds are manageable without being non-existent. The full summer madness has passed. European half-term brings a brief flurry in late October that mostly clears by November proper. What you’re left with is a mix of serious divers, long-stay travellers, and people who did their research. The vibe is relaxed in the way Dahab always promises but doesn’t always deliver in peak season.
Everything is open. This isn’t a resort town that shutters off-season – Dahab runs year-round and November sits comfortably inside its operational window.
Is it worth it? If you’re a diver, a windsurfer, or someone who just wants warm evenings, good food, and a genuinely low-pressure atmosphere without roasting alive, yes, absolutely. If you’re primarily chasing beach weather and want to lie horizontal in blazing sun, you might find it slightly anticlimactic.
**Practical tip:** Book your dive school before you arrive. The good ones – and the difference between them matters – fill their schedules even in shoulder season, and turning up expecting same-day slots is optimistic.
