Visiting Benidorm in June

# Benidorm in June: What It’s Actually Like

Let’s be straight with you – June is when Benidorm starts properly waking up, and whether that’s good news depends entirely on what you’re after.

**The Weather**

June is genuinely lovely most of the time. Temperatures typically sit in the mid to high twenties, occasionally nudging thirty, with long sunny days and evenings warm enough to eat outside without a jacket. Rain is pretty rare, but don’t dismiss it completely – early June can still throw the odd overcast day or brief thunderstorm. Nothing like the full British summer experience you’re escaping, but worth knowing. Pack one light layer and you’ll be fine.

**The Crowds**

Here’s where it gets interesting. June sits in that sweet spot before the absolute chaos of July and August. The resort is busy – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise – but it’s manageable. You’ll get a sunbed without a 6am towel-planting mission, restaurants won’t turn you away, and you can actually walk along the Levante Beach promenade without feeling like a sardine. By late June, families start arriving with school holidays beginning in some European countries, so it gradually builds.

**What’s Open**

Everything. All the bars, restaurants, water parks, boat trips, and clubs are fully operational. Aqualandia, the old town in Altea if you fancy an escape, day trips to Guadalest – all running. This isn’t shoulder season where half the place has its shutters up.

**Is It Worth It?**

For couples, older visitors, and anyone who wants the full Benidorm experience without peak-season prices and peak-season madness, June is arguably the smartest month to go. Flights and hotels are cheaper than August, the beach is enjoyable rather than overwhelming, and the atmosphere is relaxed without being dead. Younger groups chasing the full summer carnage might find it slightly tame before schools break up.

**One Practical Tip**

Book your sun loungers on the beach early if you’re going late June. What feels quieter than August can still surprise you by 10am on a clear Saturday morning.
