You’re not looking at constant downpours necessarily, but expect heavy spells, overcast skies most days, and that particular Adriatic dampness that gets into your jacket and stays there. The Old Town still looks stunning in the rain, arguably more atmospheric than in the bleached-out August heat. If you want cheap accommodation, solitude, atmospheric old architecture, and long walks along an empty coastline without sweating through your clothes, November genuinely delivers. It suits slow travellers, photographers, people who find summer resorts exhausting at peak season.

If you’re expecting a lively holiday with beach time and buzzing nightlife, go in June instead.

**One practical tip:** Pack proper waterproofs, not just a light jacket. A real rain shell will save your entire trip when that heavy November rain arrives sideways off the Adriatic.
