Where to Stay in Antibes
Where to Stay in Antibes
Antibes sits between Nice and Cannes, and where you plant yourself makes a genuine difference to how the trip feels. For mid-range travelers, the sweet spot is the area around the old town, known as Vieil Antibes, and the streets immediately surrounding the Marché Provençal. Hotels and apartments here put you within walking distance of the ramparts, the market, and the beach at La Gravette without requiring a taxi every time you want dinner. Expect to pay somewhere between 120 and 200 euros per night for a clean, comfortable room with character during summer months.
Juan-les-Pins, the neighboring resort town connected to Antibes, is worth considering if you prefer a livelier beach scene and slightly more competitive hotel pricing. It attracts a younger crowd, the beaches are sandy and accessible, and the train station sits right in the middle of it, making day trips to Nice or Cannes genuinely easy. The trade-off is atmosphere. It feels more generic resort than authentic Riviera, which matters to some people and not at all to others.
What to avoid is the stretch of large modern hotels along the port toward the Cap d’Antibes direction unless you specifically want that anonymous chain hotel experience. They often charge premium prices for locations that require a car or regular bus use to reach anything interesting.
For budget travelers staying mid-range adjacent, look at apartments through reputable platforms rather than hotels. A two-room apartment in Vieil Antibes for the same price as a cramped hotel room gives you a kitchen, more space, and a genuinely local feel.
The single most common booking mistake people make in Antibes is not checking the distance to the beach carefully enough. Hotels list themselves as beachside when they mean a fifteen-minute walk along a busy road. On the Riviera in July, that walk matters enormously. Use the satellite view on any map before confirming anything.
Book early for July and August. Antibes is not as overwhelmed as Nice or Cannes, but good mid-range options at fair prices disappear fast, sometimes by March.
