Where to Stay in Benidorm

Benidorm is one of Europe’s most unapologetically busy resorts, and if you’re travelling on a budget, the good news is that cheap accommodation is everywhere. The bad news is that not all of it is created equal, and where you sleep makes a genuine difference to your experience.

The Old Town, known as Casco Antiguo, sits on a small headland between the two main beaches and is the most atmospheric part of Benidorm. Budget hostels and cheap guesthouses here put you within walking distance of everything, and the narrow streets offer slightly more character than the tower-block zones. The Levante Beach area, on the eastern side, is where most of the action concentrates. It is loud, relentless, and genuinely fun if that is what you want. Budget hotels along the side streets one or two blocks back from the main strip are significantly cheaper than seafront properties and still give you easy beach access within five minutes on foot. The Rincon de Loix area at the northern end of Levante is popular with British and Irish visitors and has plenty of cheap all-inclusive options. Poniente Beach on the western side is slightly calmer and better suited to lighter sleepers even at budget level, with some decent low-cost apartments available for longer stays.

Avoid booking anything that describes itself as being in the centre without checking the map carefully. Some properties using that description sit further inland near the main road, meaning constant traffic noise and a real walk to any beach.

For genuine budget travellers, self-catering apartments represent the best value, particularly if you are staying more than three nights. Splitting a two-bedroom apartment between friends cuts costs sharply and gives you kitchen access to avoid eating out every meal.

The single most common booking mistake people make in Benidorm is underestimating just how noisy it gets in peak summer. Reading reviews specifically for noise complaints before confirming any reservation will save you a miserable week. A room described as quiet in February is not the same room in August.
